What To Expect

My realistic portraits are created entirely by hand, often requiring dozens of hours to achieve the level of detail, depth, and emotion collectors have come to expect from my work.

Each commission is a highly personalized piece of fine art designed to become a lasting part of your family's home.

To maintain the quality and attention each portrait deserves, I release only a limited number of commission openings throughout the year.

What To Expect When You Commission a Portrait

Step 1: Choose Your Portrait
Visit the Pricing & Booking page and select the portrait
size that best suits your vision. Each option includes pricing, examples, and details to help you decide.

Step 2: Complete Your Portrait Form
Fill out the booking form for your chosen portrait and upload your favourite reference photos. Multiple photos are always helpful and allow me to capture your pet's unique features and personality.

Step 3: Personal Follow-Up
Once I receive your submission, I'll personally reach out by email, info@sarahmoulton.ca, to confirm portrait details, answer any questions, and provide your estimated start date.

Step 4:Reserve Your Portrait
To reserve your place in my portrait schedule, portraits priced at $200 CAD and under require payment in full to reserve your portrait. Portraits over $200 CAD require a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due upon completion. Once payment is received, your portrait is officially booked and a start date will be assigned.

Step 5:Access Your Portrait Dashboard
After your booking is confirmed, you'll receive access to your private Portrait Dashboard where you can view your portrait status, see your scheduled start date, access the selected reference photo, follow progress updates, view payment information, and track your shipment.

Step 6: The Painting Process
Using professional acrylics, I hand-paint your portrait layer by layer, carefully building lifelike depth and texture. Your satisfaction is my number one goal - I'll work thoughtfully until every detail feels just right.

Step 7: Approval & Delivery
When your portrait is complete, I'll send you a final image for approval. For portraits requiring a deposit, the remaining balance will be due at this stage. Once approved and finalized, your portrait will be carefully packaged and either personally delivered if local, or shipped directly to your door.
